Transition year students recently visited Ballyhaise Agricultural College and received a guided tour of their dairy, beef and sheep enterprises.  Fifth year students travelled further afield to visit UCD Lyons Research Farm where they were given an informative tour of their dairy and sheep livestock. They were also given information on current research into the dietary intake of dairy cattle and zero grazing systems.  Afterwards, they visited a recently sown potato crop and Meade Potato Company to gain an insight into potato production.  Below are photographs of some Transition year students in Ballyhaise Agricultural College and Fifth year students out and about on Lyons research farm and Meade Potato Company.
