The Student Council hosted a luncheon in the Community Room today in honour of Mrs Claire Thomas’s recent retirement after a long and sucessful career in our Maths Department. Head Prefects and Student Council members are pictured here with Mrs Thmoas (centre), our Principal Ms Angela McGarvey and Mrs Anne Cassidy our Student Council Liaison.
The Student Council have recently received more funds in aid of their much needed defibrillator. We would like to thank both Sonia Leonard of Ard Rialla-O’Donohue Irish Dancing School and the Leaving Certificate Class of 2011 for their generous donations to this cause. Their help is much appreciated.
Today was the Annual Charity Bake Sale organised by the Student Council. Thanks to all the students who baked for the event, and those who queued at lunchtime to support the event. You donated over 1000 Euro to the Student Council Charity fund, an amazing achievement.

The week beginning November 14th is Friendship Week in our school, and Science Week across the country. There will be many and varied activities for students to watch and listen out for and reports will follow at the end of the week.
The Student Council Rap’n Maths competition got underway last week. On Monday 3rd Yrs faced off against 2nd Yrs and 6th Yrs battled it out with 5th Yrs. On Friday the 1st Yrs held their competition. The TYs (who were on Work Experience last week) will challenge each other next Wednesday.
