We had a great finish to our first half term today with the performance of the first raps, song and drama to celebrate Math week. Fractions, decimals, angles all got rhymed and reasoned to music. The week beginning November 14th is Friendship Week in our school, and Science Week across the country. There will be many and varied activities for students to watch and listen out for and reports will follow at the end of the week.

The Student Council Rap’n Maths competition got underway last week. On Monday 3rd Yrs faced off against 2nd Yrs and 6th Yrs battled it out with 5th Yrs. On Friday the 1st Yrs held their competition. The TYs (who were on Work Experience last week) will challenge each other next Wednesday.

Niamh O’Shea was captain. Charlie-Anne Mulligan-Lynch excelled in defence. ‘Player of the Match’ and top scorer was Éadaoin Kellegher.

As part of our Friendship Week programme, Joe and Thomas from Blue Rose theatre company spent the Monday with us, presenting “Stand and Speak”, a drama and discussion on the theme of bullying to First, Second (pictured here) and Fifth years students.
