Princess Wars, a film made by a group in last year’s TY, has reached the Leinster final of the Fresh Film Festival. It was selected out of 400 entries. The film will be screened in the Odeon cinema in the Point Village Dublin, on Thursday 25th February between 10am – 1.30pm. The viewing audience will vote for the winning film on the day. The national final will happen later in March.
This short film is about the Disney princesses who have entered the Big Brother House and air their troubles within. Cinderella is ocd about cleaning, while Rapunzel leaves her hair everywhere, Ariel is always in the bath or the kitchen sink, Sleeping Beauty likes to sleep, Snow White loves the animals while Belle talks to the teapot, amongst other things. The winner takes them all by surprise.
The team was composed of Caoimhe Galligan (Snow White), Claire Leddy (Cinderella), Emma O’Reilly (Ariel), Hannah O’Toole (Rapunzel), Tara Truyen (Sleeping Beauty), Dearbhla Lovett (Belle), Sarah McCarthy (Sound), Chloe Smith (Narration), and Ciara Smith (Narration).
The Fresh Film Festival sponsors include RTE, Gableend Media, the Odeon cinema and the Radharc Trust. The judges include the comedian Pat Shortt.
