There have been great celebrations at Loreto recently with the Senior Football team making history by winning the U20 Ulster Colleges A Final on a 3-8 to 2-8 scoreline.  The team beat a very strong St Ronan’s College from Lurgan, Armagh in Emyvale, Co. Monaghan on the 22nd of January.  Goals from Caoimhe Mc Dermott , Áine Reilly and Niamh O Shea helped see away the Northern school with points scored by Orla Feeney (3), Niamh Keenaghan (1), Niamh O Shea (1) and Caoimhe Mc Dermott (3).  The exchanges were nip and tuck the whole way through the game and as the clock ticked down Loreto backs came under huge pressure but their defence was impeccable with Ulster All Star Amy Wharton pulling off some top-class saves.  It was very fitting that Player of the Match Ciara Fitzpatrick fielded the last ball of the game and cleared it safely before the final whistle blew. Next up is the All-Ireland semi final against Scoil Mhuire, Carrick-on-Suir on Febraury 20th at 2pm in Ballykelly GAA, Highbridge, Kildare.  Get behind your classmates and support the Ulster Champions in Kildare!!
