Students have worked really hard online since we took on the Mathletes challenge at the end of February. We have had a number of students finishing in top 10 positions nationally for the month of March and one student came top of the country in her year category, a massive achievement. The students who placed in the top ten positions in the March leader board nationally are:
2nd Place: Alexandra Timahovica
6th Place: Arisha Maqsood
3rd Place: Fia Maloney
6th Place: Oliwia Wzorek
8th Place: Tara Ní Chionnaith
10th Place: Sinead Cahill
1st Place: Clodagh OReilly
3rd Place: Abike Aiyegbusi
4th Place: Ciara Sheils
Our school team is currently in 16th position in the country overall and 3rd position in Ulster. We have students from first second and fifth year who have spent a huge number of hours online mastering key maths skills and their hard work has payed off, we are hugely proud of their success.
Finally a big congratulations to two of our fifth year students Clodagh O’Reilly and Ciara Sheils who have achieved a place in the provincial playoffs of the Mathletes challenge. Their performance online in the last few months has been so impressive that they have been selected as some of the finalists in the competition against 700 other students with the hope of reaching the All Ireland Final. They will be travelling to Letterkenny IT on Saturday 18th April to take part. We are very proud to have two students in these playoffs and we wish you both the best of luck.
Well done to all the Mathletes this year, we hope to be as successful in next years competition! Pictured below are the students who have been placed in the top ten positions nationally for the March Leader-board.
