This year the mathematics department have signed students up to take part in the MATHLETES challenge. We have invited 1st, 2nd, 4th and 5th year students to register on khanacademy.org and complete maths missions and problems to earn points both for themselves and our school team. A great enthusiasm is being shown by all students and already some have spent hours mastering basic maths skills and developing their mathematical knowledge, whilst earning those all important points too! We encourage all who haven’t signed up to do so as soon as possible, we will be monitoring the competition until 18th April when we hope our school will have climbed up the MATHLETES leader board, there will also be a prize for the student in school who has earned the most points! More information on this competition can be found on the www.mathletes.ie, students can talk to Mrs Sweeney for class codes needed to register. Good luck to all the Mathletes out there!!!!!
