On the 23rd of October the Student Council attended the annual Loreto Schools Student Council Conference in Croke Park in Dublin. It was a very enjoyable and informative day. We were split into groups which gave us the opportunity to discuss topics with students from other schools. We told other schools about the activities and fundraisers that we hold and we also got many ideas for new events. A speaker from the Office of the Ombudsman for Children gave a speech on the work of the office and gave us the opportunity to ask questions. Loreto Swords also gave a presentation on their school explaining the work of their student council. At the end of the conference, all students returned to their own student councils to discuss any new ideas that they had. Overall it was a very well organised event which the Student Council thoroughly enjoyed. By Kate Brady, TY Student.
