Our Gaelic Football teams are currently in the thick of the football season and are doing very well. Our Senior Gaelic football team qualified for the Ulster Schools Ladies Gaelic Football Final, a great achievement in itself, as the team moved up a division this year after winning the Ulster Final last year. However St Ciaran’s High School Ballygawley defeated Loreto by a small margin. It was a well battled game but it wasn’t Loreto’s day. On the plus side Loreto’s full back Caoimhe Mc Dermott put in an impressive performance and deservedly picked up the player of the match award.

In the u16 competition Loreto College put in an outstanding performance at the Ulster Final against Our Lady’s and St Patrick’s School from Antrim. They won the game with an exceptional finishing score of 6-6 to 1-0. Again the player of the match came from Loreto when Katie Fitzpatrick put in an award winning display. We wish our u16 team the best of luck as they take on Eureka Secondary School, Kells in the All Ireland semi final.

Our u14 team have played a number of challenge games and have been successful in their two league games against Baileborough and St Louis, Carrickmacross. They now meet St Aidan’s Comprehensive School, Cootehill in their next game.
