October 21st, the Student Council launched their annual Christmas Card Competition. Each student was invited to submit an entry, either religious or traditional, in a bid for their design to be printed and sold for charity. With over 150 entries, the Student Council and art teachers had a tough task trying to choose winners for this Eason sponsored competition. However, after much deliberation, Hannah Gilcrest, St Killians’ card was chosen as the school card, Maria McGovern, St Hilary won the religious section and Emma Duffy, St Helena was the worthy prize winner of the traditional category. Hannah Gilcrest’s card is being used as the official school Christmas card, whereas the Student Council are currently selling the other two beautiful designs. Cards are €2 each or a pack of 6 for €10.
To the winners of this competition and all the entrants, congratulations to one and all.
The Student Council would also like to express their gratitude to Easons Cavan for their unwavering sponsorship for this competition throughout the years.
All funds raised through this activity will be donated to local charities.
Merry Christmas to you and yours.
