Emma Brady (incoming Deputy Head Prefect) writes:
Recently the Student Council have been raising much needed funds for purchasing a defibrillator. We have now almost reached our target amount of €2500. School-based Automated External Defibrillators provide a high survival rate for both student athletes and others who suffer Sudden Cardiac Arrest on school grounds.
The Student Council have worked hard over the past two years in securing these crucial funds. They have hosted two non-uniform days in which students were asked to donate €2 in aid of the defibrillator. The student council have also held a Christmas Card competition where the winning cards from each category were printed and sold. In the coming months, we will be holding a cake sale and hopefully this will be our final fundraising event in our quest to raise our las €200! We are also very grateful to Easons of Cavan, Glanbia and the Loreto Class of 1991 for their genorous donations towards this cause.
