On Wednesday the 12th of October our class went to the zoo on an ecology trip. When we first went to the zoo we got to look around for 45 mins while the other class were being inducted. When we were the the monkeys were being fed, it was really cool and there were tiny baby monkeys. When they heard the keeper calling them they ran across a small bridge, It was really cute. Then we had to go and get inducted and went out to the Phoenix Park to study grassland. We did different experiments and it was really good.
Then we went back into the zoo and got to look around. We went around the whole zoo in the space of an hour – we ran most of it to get to see all we wanted to see! The lion was not out so we were disapointed about that but we got to see the tiger and the snow leopard which is very rare to see. When we went back around to the monkeys they were shouting very loudly. We also saw the wolf and I got a close up picture of him eating.
It was a really good day and I would love to go back again so see it again because it was really enjoyable.
When we arrived at the zoo we had an hour before the workshop to go see all the animals. We took loads of pictures. Then we had the ecology workshop with our instructor. We were studying the green land habitat in the Phoenix Park. We used equipment such as the quadrat, the pooter, the beating tray to see what plants and animals there are. It was very interesting. We had to record all our information and take pictures of everything we did. When the workshop was over we got another hour in the zoo. Everyone was really tired afterwards. Then before we went home we stopped by Blanchardstown, everyone was really excited to do some shopping. The trip was fun and very interesting. I really enjoyed it.
