Ciara Deering (TY Europa) reviews Ger Carey’s show Psycho Spaghetti:
“I recently attended this show and to be honest it was the best stand-up comedy routine I have ever seen. I have watched adult stand-up comedy on TV but it is not all revenant to teenagers. However Psycho Spaghetti was just prefect for 15 to 18 year olds. We got every joke and it is so hard to stop yourself from having tears rolling down your checks with laughter.
This hilarious one-man show attempts to answer the age-old question. Just what is going on inside the teenage brain? It is a comic journey inside the teenage brain. It makes it hard for us not to laugh at ourselves.
He starts with the typical day at school for any teenager, the lads racing to the back of the class, daydreaming students, and teachers scouring the corridors for students not wearing the correct uniform.
His acting and facial expressions is bound to have you in fits of laugher in the first 10 seconds. He has an amazing ability to switch characters in a matter of milliseconds. From the angry teacher to the sarcastic students and back again. He transports you back to you own school, to that day that all the events he vividly details happened to you.
He covers every topic from swats to dating to hormone pixies with big injections. He captures you from the start and it ends with a huge moan from the audience who would all happily sit there for the whole day listening to him.
You leave the room in a bubble of happiness and laughter, all worry evaporated from your head. I think it helps you grow a positive attitude to life and to look at our problems in a more realistic view. I would recommend it to every teenager out there. You are missing out on one of the best stand-up comedy shows that was ever made. It is absolutely hilarious.”
