TY (Europa & Hibernia) students write:
As part of our TY Digital Multimedia course, both classes came together to have a workshop on “Introduction to Computer Programming with Scratch”. Ms Amond invited a guest teacher, Stephen Howell from Tallaght IT. We learned about the history of computer programming, how important it is, and then we were shown how to use the Scratch programme. We also saw how Kinect and Scratch can be used together, and we all hope to try this again later in the year. We will continue to use Scratch during the year, and delelop our creative skills. This was a fun way to be introduced to the world of computer programming.

Wow. The work going on with Scratch is impressive. How are these going? Are they finished? Is it possible for visitors to try out these programs at all? I’d love to check them out.

What do Scratch and Kinect have in common? Are they the same idea, just different brands or is Scratch a game you use on Kinect?

I wish we had something like that at my school it would make learning so much more fun and interesting. You would remember it better too.

Good question! Our guest teacher, Stephen, has written a code that allows people to use their Kinect to programme Scratch automatically. He is becoming quite famous all over the world because of this Miranda.
